BGS Gritting will provide a complete, pro-active service, from daily monitoring of the weather, management of grit salt supplies through to application.
Supply and Apply Service
Our Bespoke Gritting Services cater specifically for commercial premises requiring flexible arrangements. Our gritters are designed to give a more controlled application in restricted areas thus minimising damage caused by overspray of salt onto shrub and grass areas as well as potential damage to parked vehicles.
How it Works?
- We assess your site via our on-line service or a site visit.
- Following acceptance of our quotation we organise sufficient salt stocks to keep your site adequately covered.
- Our weather team monitor and record the forecast daily for your location using a number of metrological sites including the Met Office.
- When the agreed criteria has been forecast, we record the data and following your approval to attend, our gritting team is dispatched out of normal hours to apply grit salt to your site. This is usually done before any ice formation.
- Should we attend site on consecutive nights we regulate the amount of salt being dispatched to avoid over use.
- Throughout the winter season we constantly monitor the weather and your salt supply levels for continued maximum protection.
BGS gritting prefer the use of white salt and unless otherwise stated/requested our rates are based on the supply of white salt. Essentially the active ingredient is the same but white salt has been cleaned and had the sand and clay carrier removed.
